If you are Paragliding in Ölüdeniz, your take-off site will be the Babadag Mountains. The Babadag mountain is one of the highest commercial take-off zones for all paragliding in the world. It is around 2000 meters high and is not suitable for the faint-hearted.
Although dangerous, your paragliding instructors at Ölüdeniz are experienced and professionals who can take care of any unexpected situations. Your first instruction is generally to run while the wind takes you up, gliding like an eagle over the Turkey Coastline.
The entire ride takes around 20-25 minutes, and you can glide over the coastline, the blue lagoon, and other interesting places while taking videos and photographs. Your instructor will guide you through the landmarks and teach you to do simple tricks in the air if you are interested in some adventure when gliding.
Kayaköy Ghost Town
Kayaköy is an ancient and empty village to the south of Fethiye. The village is located in the Taurus Mountains and was originally built in the 1700s. The town has been deserted since the 1920s after the first world war. The fallout of the war and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire lead to severe violence and retribution between the Greeks and the Turks leading the Greek orthodox community to set a new Turkish border. Many Greeks fled the country for Turkish violence and left the peaceful city of Kayaköy in ruins and deserted.
The Kayaköy Ghost Town is a well-built town with paved streets for you to take a stroll. You can visit this humbling place to pay tribute to the people who lost their homes due to the violence of the Turks and the Turkish-Greek conflicts.
The Marmaris Honey House
The Marmaris Honey House is a scientific centre built to raise the local awareness of bees and pine honey production in the area. More than 90% of all Pine Hiney in the world is made in the Aegean region of Turkey, ranking Turkey in the top five producers of honey in the world.
The Honey House is shaped like a honeycomb and focuses entirely on educating visitors on the importance of bees around the world and how they affect the environment. Moreover, the centre also talks about the history of beekeeping and the benefits of honey. The Marmaris Honey house is one of the educational places to visit in Dalaman.
Azmak River
The Azmak river is located next to the Akyaka town and is a unique habitat with a range of flora and fauna. The river has crystal clear waters and is very chilled with a relaxing vibe. Azmak river is the best palace in Dalaman for a nature retreat to relax after a long week. Along the river, you will notice ducks, goose, kingfishers, and other birds enjoying the rich resources of fish and vegetation on the banks.

The Blue Lagoon, Ölüdeniz

Tlos Turkey
If you love exploring ancient ruins on your holiday, then Tlos is one of the best places you can visit in Dalaman. The palace is very close to the Dalaman town, and you can find several tour groups to take you to Tlos. If you are not interested in a tour, hire a car and reach Tlos in just 35-40 minutes from Dalaman airport.
An ancient citadel, Tlos was a Lycian city that dates back over 4000 years. The place was occupied by the Romans, Byzantines, and Ottoman Turks who were living there till the beginning of the 19th century.
Arriving at Tlos, you will be surrounded by the mountain range of Akdalar, which rises up high even though you are already at an altitude. From the cliff-top of Tlos, you can see the Xanthos valley and all the small houses, ruins, and roman amphitheatres in the area.
If you want to relax, you can always move down to Calis Beach and take a stroll on the smooth sand or soak in the warm sunlight of the beach.
Saklikent Gorge
After you have completed your trip to Tlos and looking for a nice place to relax in Dalaman, the Saklikent Gorge is one of the most peaceful places you can visit. The Saklikent Gorge is the second-largest gorge in Europe and the best in Turkey.
The Saklikent Gorge is filled with the meltwater of the Taurus Mountain. The gorge is naturally cool and is a great retreat for all family and friends. On your way across the gorge, you will come across a magnificent waterfall which is worth a hike if you want to wet your feet in the cool waters.
Walking the Saklikent Gorge will give you a refreshed energy from nature while you find yourself surrounded by several plants and animals. Moreover, you can go river rafting in the rapids if you are looking for some adventure on your tour.
One of the most attractive places in the gorge is the hanging restaurants that give you a beautiful ambience and serves great food. You can enjoy delicious lunch or have yourself a cup of coffee while you enjoy nature at its best in the Saklikent Gorge. The restaurants are decorated with traditional Turkish rugs and cushion shades.
If you are visiting the Saklikent gorge, you should definitely carry clothes you can wet, swimming gear, bottled water, and an extra pair of shoes. You can also hire jelly shoes in the gorge in case you do not have an extra pair of shoes.
